I like my beater blade, so I am giving this a 5. I agree with all of the superb things that absolutely everyone says about this stand mixer attachment. Nonetheless--my stand mixer is a Expert 5 Plus, and although it is deemed a 5 quart mixer, this blade DOES NOT fit. If you go to the BeaterBlade.com webpage, or to Amazon's webpage for the 6 quart KitchenAid BeaterBlade, you will uncover that the Pro5 line needs the BeaterBlade for the 6 quart KitchenAid models. I'm writing this assessment to stop other people from generating the very same mistake I did. DO purchase the BeaterBlade attachment though--it is a wonder!

I totally love this product! But you do have to get the hang of it, and it is not for novice bakers. The original KA beater will work greater for some things. But as other individuals have mentioned, for anything sticky, gooey, or prone to stick to the sides of the bowl, this beater makes for quick and hassle-free perform.
But take it slow at initial - you have to watch both speed, and time, or you will have a very overmixed batter, and yes, flour can fly (but that happens with KA's beater as well). My banana bread was more quickly and easier than ever in the 20 years I have been generating it. Even the not soft enough butter creamed up in less than a minute. Certainly no scraping required, I went from step one to into the pan in actually 2 minutes. As for flour flying, just add dry ingredients a little at a time, with the machine on a low speed till they commence to incorporate, then turn it up and let this infant perform!
