My wife and I received this pasta drying rack as a wedding gift along with several other KitchenAid products. If we hadn't have received it as a gift, I would have bought it and viewed as it $40 nicely spent.
The pasta rack is nicely created and very easy to deploy and pack up for storage. When you open it from the package all of the hanging rods are aligned with every single other. Turn the black wheel at the top of the drying rack about one complete turn and all of the hanging rods space themselves out evenly (see item picture). No require to position each and every hanging rod by hand, which would be a fairly tedious chore. Pull each of the feet down and then lift up on the ends to lock them in location.
Craftily designed to be stored in the top of the drying rack is a "transfer rod" which conforms to the hanging rods to permit you to transfer the pasta to each hanging rod. What we do is cut the pasta through our KitchenAid pasta plate operating off the stand mixer and just ahead of the pasta is practically completed becoming cut, slide the transfer rod from one particular side of the pasta as it's hanging from the cutter plate to the other and then the pasta is now hanging from the rod. We then place the transfer rod on best of a single of the hanging rods, twist the transfer rod 180 degrees and now the pasta is hanging from the drying rack.
The pasta rack easily held the quantity of pasta made by applying the recipe in the KitchenAid pasta plate owners manual, which is suppose to yield 1-1/two pounds of dough. Maybe a bit way more space for pasta, but surely not adequate space for a complete second batch.
The pasta rack is extremely stable and is created of stainless steel tube for the center column and legs. The bottom base is created of plastic along with the hanging rods, transfer rod, and turning wheel at the leading.
