Customer Evaluations
I purchased this item mainly because the original roller attachment from the 3-piece set I received more than three years ago lastly broke. Please bear in mind that I make more pasta than 99% of those who will obtain this machine - quite often 4 dozens eggs worth per session (every single month or so) - I did not hesitate to get a different.
It functions perfectly! It also seems that they have produced some changes because the last model. The copper scraper-plates where the dough is extracted have been changed to plastic (this actually is a Fine point, as small bits of copper will not get into your noodles if they break off). Also I have heard that they changed the gears from plastic to metal (another plus for durability if it is accurate).
My last model was on its way out for a Extended time (you could hear it), and when I used this 1 I had realized how quiet it employed to be when operating!
This is a good roller, considerably far better than using an Atlas hand pasta machine (which I've carried out for years). But tiny pieces of pasta dry up inside and is time consuming to get them out. Last one particular I had I was cleaning it with a rag and the rag got jammed in (it was turning as I was cleaning the rollers). A brass piece broke inside, so now I am on my second one.
The reality tht you do not have to use 1 hand to crank while feeding the pasta tends to make for a greater deal. Also, spend attention to the Very confusing ordering program - you need this pasta roller , AND you need to have cutters if you want to make something but sheets, and the a variety of kits all have these weird codes. The picture of this 1 looks like it tends to make fettucine, in truth it only makes lasagna so you need to get extra cutters (and a pasta rack) to extremely use it. I like their egg pasta recipe, BTW.
